History

Family-owned boutique hotel in historic surroundings

In 2010, Best Western Plus Hotel Kronjylland celebrated its 100th birthday, and is thus part of a small and highly exclusive group of historic Danish hotels.

The hotel was built in 1910 in the absolute centre of the city with the vibrant life of the railway station and has always managed to keep up with the developments in Randers. Today, Randers is the sixth largest city in Denmark, and the second largest city in East Jutland after Aarhus. Randers has a strong infrastructure with its location close to the E45 motorway, and the Jutland long distance track with rail connections to all parts of Denmark.

Since 1991, Best Western Plus Hotel Kronjylland has been owned by the Ditlev family, who over the years has expanded, changed and improved the hotel in a determined and uncompromising manner. The family oversees the decoration of the hotel and has found inspiration during their travels and at city hotels in London, Paris, Rome and Barcelona.

Today, Best Western Plus Hotel Kronjylland is a modern, international four-star boutique hotel with 63 well-arranged rooms, meeting facilities, restaurant and a charming courtyard oasis. The design is classic and modern, kept in a muted colour palette with saturated dark earth colours, dark woods, glass, velour and silver as the characteristic elements of the design.

In recent years, Best Western Plus Hotel Kronjylland has received a long list of prestigious industry awards and acknowledgment that all encompass the hotel’s success with its vision of creating unique guest experiences, great hosting and attentive guest care.
